Blue Ice Bluebird Ice Axe camping even in wet conditionsThe Bluebird Ice Axe is your go to piolet for classic mountaineering on steep snow and icy slopes. Sturdy, forged stainless steel and aluminum construction give the Bluebird exceptional anchoring capability. The aircraft grade aluminum shaft features a dual texture and sliding pommel for an elevated grip and anchoring. While the Bluebird Ice Axe may not contend for the lightest weight weighing 12 ounces it offers robust performance in steep terrain.
